Is a prokinetic benzamide derivative unlike domperidone. These drugs inhibit dopamine and acetylcholine esterase enzyme and have a gastrokinetic effect.Itopride effectively increases movement of food and facilitates emptying of the stomach.
1 Tablet BID/ BD (two times a day) or as directed by your physician
Per oral (PO)
It is used for the treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, Functional Dyspepsia, and other associated motility disorders.
Its side effects includes diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache, nausea, decrease in white blood cells and platelets count, gynacomastia, allergic skin reaction, increased liver enzyme levels, jaundice.
