Medicine Generic: Ferrous Ascorbate + Folic Acid + Zinc Sulphate
Ferrous ascorbate is a synthetic form of iron and vitamin C which works an antianemic agent.. Folic acid is a vitamin of the B Complex group which helps your body produce and maintain new cells, and also helps prevent changes to DNA that may lead to cancer and also helps prevents birth defects. Zinc is essential for normal iron metabolism and prevention of anemia, prevent pre-term delivery, provide immunity in both mother and child, and for healthy growth pf baby.
1 Tablet OD (once daily) or as directed by your physician
Per oral (PO)
It is used to treat iron deficiency anemia, during pregnancy as an iron supplement where the daily iron requirement may double, menorrhagia, used in inadequate iron intake and promote adequate growth of infants and adolescents
Side effects of iron, folic acid and zinc supplementation are mild and transient. These include epigastric pain, nausea, constipation, vomiting, diarrhoea, heart burn, etc.
