Linagliptin is an oral anti-diabetic drug belonging to a class of medications called dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors. It works by increasing the amounts of certain natural substances that lower blood sugar when it is high. Incretins help to control blood sugar by increasing insulin release, especially after a meal. They also decrease the amount of sugar your liver makes.
1 Tablet OD (once daily) or as directed by your physician
Per oral (PO)
It is used by people with type 2 diabetes to control high blood sugar.
Common side effects includes dizziness, fast heartbeat, headcahe, nausea, seizures,etc. Serious side effects includes joint pain, unusual skin blisters, signs of heart failure (such as shortness of breath, swelling ankles/feet, unusual tiredness, unusual/sudden weight gain).
