Medicine Generic: Clindamycin
Clindamycin is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. It is an antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of bacteria. It can also be used to treat some protozoal disesases, such as malaria.
1 Ointment OD (once daily) or as directed by your physician
P-A-A (apply locally)
Clindamycin is used for the treatment of a number of bacterial infections, including bone or joint infections, pelvic inflammatory disease, strep throat, pneumonia, middle ear infections, and endocarditis. It can also be used to treat acne, and some cases of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.
Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea may occur. Tell your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects, including: heartburn, joint pain/swelling, yellowing eyes/skin, dark urine. Use of this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in oral thrush or a new vaginal yeast infection.
