Metformin is an oral diabetes medicine that helps control blood sugar levels.
1 Tablet BID/ BD (two times a day) or as directed by your physician

Metformin is used together with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Metformin is sometimes used together with insulin or other medications, but it is not for treating type 1 diabetes.
Common side effects includes abdominal discomfort,cough or hoarseness, decreased appetite, diarrhea, fast or shallow breathing, fever or chills, general feeling of discomfort, lower back or side pain, muscle pain or cramping, painful or difficult urination, sleepiness.
