Itraconazole is an antifungal medication. It belongs to a class of drugs known as azole antifungals. It works by stopping the growth of fungi.
1 Capsule OD (once daily) or as directed by your physician
Per oral (PO)
It is used in adults to treat infections caused by fungus. This includes infections in any part of the body including the lungs, mouth or throat, toenails, or fingernails.
Common side effects include nausea,vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, rash, and headache. Serious side effects includes numbness/tingling of arms/legs, hearing loss, mental/mood changes (such as depression) and rarely liver disease.
