It belongs to a class of drugs called azole antifungals. It works by stopping the growth of certain types of fungus.
1 Capsule Weekly (One time in a week) or as directed by your physician
Per oral (PO)
Fluconazole is used to prevent and treat a variety of fungal and yeast infections including yeast infections of the vagina, mouth, throat, esophagus , abdomen , lungs, blood, and other organs. Fluconazole is also used to treat meningitis caused by fungus.
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset/pain, headache, dizziness, or hair loss may occur.
