About This Product
Product description
Ibuprofen (400 mg) and Paracetamol (325 mg), widely used as an analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic agent.
• Primary Uses: It provides short-term relief from mild-to-moderate pain and fever, including headaches, toothaches, muscle aches, back pain, joint discomfort, arthritis, and menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea). It is not an antibiotic and does not treat viral infections like dengue.
• How It Works: Ibuprofen acts as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) by blocking cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes to reduce prostaglandins (which cause pain, swelling, and inflammation). Paracetamol acts on the central nervous system to elevate the pain threshold and regulate body temperature. The tablet typically starts working within 30 to 60 minutes, and the effect lasts for about 4 to 6 hours.
• Dosage and Administration: It should be swallowed whole with water—ideally with or after food, milk, or a snack to prevent stomach upset, heartburn, or indigestion. For adults, the usual interval is every 6 to 8 hours as needed, and it is strongly advised not to exceed 3 tablets within a 24-hour period unless otherwise directed by a doctor. Treatment is meant for short-term use (typically not exceeding 3 days for fever or pain without medical consultation).
• Side Effects: Common adverse effects include nausea, vomiting, heartburn, indigestion, stomach pain, dizziness, and mild drowsiness. More serious risks associated with prolonged or improper use include gastrointestinal bleeding, liver strain, and kidney issues.
• Precautions and Contraindications: Flexon is unsafe during pregnancy (particularly the final trimester), should be used with caution while breastfeeding, and is contraindicated in individuals with active peptic ulcers, severe liver or kidney disease, heart conditions, or a history of NSAID/aspirin allergies. Alcohol must be avoided, as it sharply increases the risk of stomach irritation and liver damage.
